How to Activate SBS On Demand on Your Smart TV

SBS On Demand allows supported Smart TVs and streaming devices to be connected to your SBS On Demand account using a QR code or a browser-based activation process.

If your TV displays a Connect Your TV screen with a code, you can use your phone, tablet, or computer to complete the connection.

What You Need

  • A compatible Smart TV or streaming device
  • The SBS On Demand app installed on your TV
  • An SBS On Demand account
  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer
  • The code displayed on your TV

How to Get Your SBS On Demand TV Code

  1. Open the SBS On Demand app on your Smart TV.
  2. Select Sign In or Create An Account.
  3. Your TV should display a Connect Your TV screen.
  4. Look for the code displayed on the TV.
  5. Leave this screen open while you complete the browser activation.

Activate SBS On Demand Using a Browser

  1. Open a browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.
  2. Go to sbs.com.au/connect.
  3. Sign in to your SBS On Demand account.
  4. Enter the code shown on your TV.
  5. Select Submit or continue with the activation process.
  6. Wait for the confirmation that your TV has been successfully connected.

After successful activation, the SBS On Demand app on your TV should automatically sign you in.

Using the SBS On Demand QR Code

Some supported TVs display a QR code on the Connect Your TV screen. Open your phone's camera and scan the QR code. Follow the link to the SBS On Demand sign-in page, sign in to your account, and enter the TV code when requested.

SBS On Demand Activation Code Not Working

  • Make sure the code was entered exactly as displayed on the TV.
  • Make sure you are signed in to the correct SBS On Demand account.
  • Return to the TV's Connect Your TV screen and generate a new code if necessary.
  • Make sure your TV has a working internet connection.
  • Try using a current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.

Alternative Sign-In Method

If your TV supports it, SBS On Demand may also allow you to sign in directly using the TV remote instead of using the browser activation method.
